Maine Cottage Rental Exterior Tour

Take a look around...and imagine how much fun you can have exploring this Georgetown Maine cottage rental while on vacation. First you'll want to get the "lay of the land." There is something for everyone here - the cottage is modest - the location is not!

This vacation rental property in the heart of midcoast Maine boasts 5.5 acres to itself. Although when you drive to the cottage the first time you will wonder "where on earth am I?" you will quickly find, that although this rental is private, it is not isolated. The property slopes down to the water and from the deck and family room your will feel like you are sitting on the dock of a boat.

The water enthusiast will enjoy the dock and float and the protected cove. Each cottage, camp, or year round home along the deep water cover shown on nautical charts as "White's Cove" has approximately 100 feet of water frontage. Our rental vacation cottage has 200 feet to call its own. Deep water means, that although this cove is fed from the Sheepscot and Little Sheepscot Rivers, it has 9 foot tides, but never empties out completely at our dock. We have approximately 6 feet of water at our dock at mean low tide. We like to sail, so this was important to us. As our guest you will find it makes your stay more pleasant all around.

Enjoy our kayaks and dinghy sailboat or bring your own power or sailboat and use our moorings. Fish or swim right from the float. Kids can enjoy hours on the rocks at low tide looking for treasures. Picnic on the back deck or on the dock at water's edge.

The activity around the cottage includes the passage of sailboats through the famed "narrows", Maine lobster fishermen plying their trade (including most of the neighbors in the cove), a small tour boat out of Boothbay, people shuttling back and forth to MacMahan Island, and a plethora of pleasure boaters cruising around. If you enjoy more of the wild side our property and cove are frequented by osprey, gulls, seals, turtles, mackeral, deer, raccoons, birds, garter snakes, frogs, and we keep hoping for a moose (they do live in the area).

There is even more to this cottage than its supreme cove side location. Take time to play croquet on the grass, pick blueberries from our patches, bush-wack in our 5 acres of woods, hike the dirt roads, or sit and watch the tides come and go. Kids can check out the tree house, swing on the rope swings, and hunt for frogs.
